Mission Statement

Keeping Kids Warm is a London, Ontario based, humanitarian, interfaith registered charity, comprised of community volunteers who have a strict, grassroots approach to helping teens in jeopardy and raising awareness of their plight.

It’s aim is to provide warmth for teens who have found themselves homeless.  We do so by providing handmade knitted, crocheted or loomed items such as mittens, hats, scarves, blankets, and slippers.  Additionally, each year we provide various local shelters and organizations with Survival Bags to distribute to the teens.  The bags include personal toiletries and other items that one would need on a daily basis.

Donations of yarn, knitting needles and the like are the underlying foundation of how Keeping Kids Warm keeps its volunteers with an ample supply of materials to make these items for the teenagers.  These materials are offered free of charge to the volunteers through classes, deliveries and bazaars with the understanding the volunteers will return a finished item to the organization.

Sharing the warmth of an embrace through the gift of a handmade item is our way of telling a homeless teen that people care.

Vision
Statement

Keeping Kids Warm ~ Helping Homeless Teens One Stitch At Time will help and encourage volunteers to make handmade items of warmth for free distribution to homeless teens, as well as taking every opportunity to support other organizations in the field to raise awareness of this tragic, societal issue.
